Back on Track

Support for young NEETs in rural areas

Back on Track aims to (re)integrate young NEETs (Not in Employment, Education, or Training) in rural areas into general and vocational education as well as the labor market. The goal is to improve their basic skills and resilience, while strengthening their digital competence, to enable sustainable employment and personal development.

The project is co-financed under the Interreg Danube Region Program.

Project Activities

  • Establishing a network of stakeholders, including NEETs, to ensure comprehensive support and collaboration.
  • Understanding the diversity of rural NEETs to design effective interventions.
  • Developing a joint outreach strategy to reach and engage NEETs in rural communities.
  • Preparing "Train the Mentor" capacity-building programs to equip mentors with the necessary skills to effectively support NEETs.
  • Implementing a mentoring pilot program to provide personalized guidance and support to NEETs in rural areas.
  • Raising awareness of home office and remote work opportunities to expand employment prospects.
  • Strengthening the human capital of rural NEETs by developing a digital learning course to improve their basic skills.
  • Enhancing the quality of life and mental readiness of NEETs in rural areas by improving their self-management and resilience skills.
