What do I need to pay to reserve a dorm room?

As soon as we’ve received your online registration and put together an offer for you, we’ll e-mail you written confirmation of your dorm room’s availability. This confirmation mail will contain all the necessary information on how much money you’ll need to transfer by when.

When does my dorm room reservation become binding? / At what point is my resident agreement actually concluded?

In the dorm room confirmation e-mail that we send you, you’ll also find all the necessary information on the amount and due date of the first payment you’ll need to make.

Once that payment has reached us on time, your dorm room will be officially reserved and your resident agreement concluded in a binding way. Only once that’s happened is your dorm room guaranteed.

In order to receive written confirmation of dorm room availability, you first need to register online for a dorm room.

 

What happens if none of the preferred dorms I’ve listed have any space?

In this case, we’ll offer you a dorm room in another ÖJAB dormitory—if possible, in a dorm located close to where your preferred ones are.

 

What do I have to pay before I can move in?

As soon as we’ve put together an offer for you, we’ll e-mail you written confirmation of your dorm room’s availability. This confirmation mail will contain all the necessary information on how much money you’ll need to transfer by when. Once that payment has reached us on time, your dorm room will be officially reserved and your resident agreement concluded in a binding way. Only once that’s happened is your dorm room guaranteed.

How can I cancel a dorm room that I’ve already reserved?

The following terms of cancellation apply:

  • Cancellation more than 3 months before the contract begins: 150,00 Euro
  • Cancellation 1-3 months before the contract begins: 250,00 Euro
  • Cancellation less than 1 month before the contract begins: 600,00 Euro

When and how can I move in?

You’ll receive move-in information from the house management as part of your dorm room confirmation e-mail.

If you have questions on moving in, please get in touch directly with the house management of the ÖJAB dorm that you’ll be moving into. House management contact information can be found in each dormitory’s profile at https://www.oejab.at/en/students/dormitories. (Click on your dorm and scroll all the way down to “CONTACT & ADDRESS.”)

 

What all do I need to bring with me when I move in?

When you move in, you’ll need to present photo ID and bring along a few additional things. Your house management will inform you with sufficient advance notice prior to moving in what exactly you’ll need to bring along (in terms of additional documents, bedclothes, household textiles, cooking utensils, hygiene items, etc.).
